English German Explanation
My name is Stefan. Ich heisse Stefan  "heissen" is an verb that doesn't exist in English - It simply means "to have a name"
The book is on the table.  Das Buch liegt auf dem Tisch  This in an example of how the word is is more specifically expressed depending on how a certain object is positiond exactly. In German you use "lie on", "stand on" or similar words instead if is
You look good. Du siehst gut aus.

This is an example for a split verb - a concept used excessively in German. The actual verb is aussehen.
The word for good (gut) goes in between sehen and aus. (Like in the phrase 'check this out' the object this is squeezed in between check and out.)

Wie geht es Dir? How are you?  Es geht - normally translated as 'it goes' here expresses a general condition or the ability to do something. It can also mean 'How do you feel' - the most accurate translation would be 'How is it going'?
Ich will nach Hause  I want to go home. Nach Hause means home - nach always indicating a direction. The interesting fact here is that in German the 'to go' is omitted completely. Wanting is not an auxiliary verb in German. It can stand by itself. Where in english we cannot just say 'I want home'
I love you Ich liebe Dich  No explanation here:-)
